Where is it?
Around the slender arms connecting the front wheels to the chassis.
What does it do?
It helps keep the tyres in contact with the track and controls how the car moves under braking and cornering. Covers around the arms also affect airflow.
What to watch in an update
An update to an arm’s outer cover may mainly target airflow. A suspension update does not necessarily mean a change to ride comfort.
This guide explains the basic role. The FIA submission gives the stated aim of each individual update.
