Where is it?
Below the nose, stretching across the car ahead of the front wheels.
What does it do?
Air pushes the front of the car towards the track, helping the front tyres grip. The wing also shapes the air reaching parts further back.
What to watch in an update
Look for changes to wing shape or angle: they can affect front-to-rear balance and air resistance. In 2026, Active Aero uses movable elements on both the front and rear wings.
This guide explains the basic role. The FIA submission gives the stated aim of each individual update.
